midway point blog
throughout this class i have learned alot of things. Ive learned how too learn with others in all type of enviroments ive learned too be more accepting too all types of people. This class i think has made me more mature as a person all around, its tought me not only how too be a good person but a good leader. Its tought me all of the qualities of a person. something that i still feel like i wanna learn is how too doncentrate better, which i think i will learn by the end of this awsome class

haunted house blog
project design skills:
in the haunted house there were many different rooms filled with cool ideas and scary themes, one of my contributions too that would have been the jack in the box. Me and my group though of the idea in the early stages of planning the haunted house. when we were actually building the designs and structures i really didn't stay too one room i went around helping everyone i don't like staying in one place for a long period of time.
Identifying and dealing with barriers:
barriers that i faced during this project was and has always been one of my barriers is focusing. parents and teachers use that word so often that sometimes i don't know what is means when someone says "your not focusing" or "you should learn how too focus"... Focus too me is lack of creativity and concentration on a certain task. Myself i think that i have plenty of creativity, but my focus has always been a problem although in this situation i don't think it was so much as a barrier as much as it was a positive motive. I went around too every group when i wasn't "concentrating" and really got a feel for what everyone was doing and how they were contributing. I tyred as best i could too help people with there tasks, so in the end i think i over came my barrier of lack of "focus".
Interpersonal skills:
One of my greatest skills is having the ability too talk and get along with all different kinds of people. Ive always had a great sense of humour and really like making people laugh. In this project i really think i brought all those skills too the table, i brought knew ideas too the table almost every day however i also listened too everybody Else's ideas. Rather than just hearing the ideas i really listened too everyone and tyred too figure out some way too Incorporated them into the haunted house.
Understanding and working with diversity:
Some diversity during this project would have been most simply supplies and materials we had access too, It was tough too get the materials too the haunted house. During the first day of designing we barely had anything done and into our haunted house it made it difficult for everyone too get into it and really get creative. That leads into another issue that i saw which was people having trouble letting there guard down and just get creative, really not worry about what people might think if they see you in a clown costume or in makeup. At times i even had trouble with it but by the end i was completely in clown mode and had a great time.

-positive attitude
motivation: My motivation really came through when i saw the haunted house coming alive. In a way this inspired me too do my best and really bring the haunted house over the top. Also my motivation i think helped others too get excited about it and maybe even get themselves pumped and motivated.
positive attitude: If you know me then you'll know that i always have a great attitude towards thing and am always positive. when others were down and didn't really believe in what we were doing I'd just brighten the mood with humour and positivity. I believe that if i am positive it will shine onto others and encourage them too be up beat.
listening to others: i thought listening well to other was very important in this environment. but not only listening but hearing what others opinions and suggestions are. i find if you listen too others and show respect you'll get the same in return.
personal management skills: Some things i could have definitely improved on during the making of the haunted house is my efficiency. It took me a while too complete tasks, at some points i was getting distracted but i still managed too get the job done. Another thing that i could have improved on is being more willing too volunteer my time during lunch hour.
self-assessment skills: Overall i think that i worked well during the whole process. If i had too give myself a mark out of 20 i would more than likely give myself 15teen because i worked well with others but tended too get distracted by the people around me i still had so much fun doing this and hope i can help out next year.

blog #1
My name is riley nooren, And Today is my first blog in leadership, school has been started for 1 week now and so far i am loving it. Leadership is my favourite class, So far we have made posters for the school and held an orientation event for the new grade nines. We have also talked lots about the qualities and the attributes that make leaders... leaders. Also we talked about different types of leaders such as good leaders bad leaders effective leaders and leaders that weren't or aren't so effective. im looking forward too the rest of this week in leadership.

While i was watching the video it made me think of the way we all live our lives and incouraged me too think in a different way sending a text never seemed so amazing until i watched this. i think if everyone thought this way everyone would be so much more appreciative of what we have and the things weve been given. people i think sometimes dont realize how easy our lives actually are some people just need too CALM DOWN and be thankfull for everything they have. im not saying that im not one of those people i just think we all need too work on it :)

yes i do think this is leadership. i think what knaan is trying too do is too give people a real understanding of what is going on in somalia and he is the first person too be this graphic and detailed about it not too mention it is his own life story if you ask me that is a leader..

i thought this episode touched on many different important topics and it seemed too really show the students for who they really are although i thought they made it seem alll in your face about it
how is this school similar to ours?
i think this school is alot like our because of the fact that there are so many rumours that go around here and so much verbal bullying which i wish was not the case.
thoughts on the concept?
i thinkthe concept is amazing it brings kids together in a judge free enviroment and is almost like a healing proccess or even a reality check for some kids. although i think it would be even better without the cameras
why would i take part?
i would take part because like alot of people i too want too break down the social barriers and hear what other people in my school havetoo say about issues going on in there lives
why is idci invsting time and $?
i think idci teachers and staff wanna see the students come together and reduce the bullying that goes on in this school. i beleive that they too wanna break down the barriers between student to student and mybe even student too teacher.
i am very EXCITED too be invited too participate in challenge day and cannot wait... :D
